In October 2018, Lilly Endowment Inc. announced GIFT VII, a major new initiative for community foundations.  Lilly Endowment has supported the development and growth of Indiana community foundations for over 25 years.

A significant new element of this initiative is a focus on community leadership.  In 2019, each community foundation will receive at least $50,000 for community leadership planning work.  The Endowment is also open to community foundations using some of the grant for internal capacity building in preparation for community leadership work.  This webinar is directed to Indiana consultants who may be interested in working with one or more community foundations in this exciting initiative.

In this webinar, Harwood’s Vice President for Promise and Impact, Damien Conners, will highlight the resources and capacity-building opportunities Harwood can offer Indiana community foundations as they seek to more deeply understand, and play a role in responding to, the shared challenges and opportunities of their communities. Our partners such as United Way Worldwide, Tallahatchie River Foundation, and individual communities are using our approach to develop innovative programs, forge boundary-spanning partnerships, and shift their cultures and organizations to be more Turned Outward - where the community is the reference point for making decisions. These changes lead to greater relevance, impact, increased funding and improved investment strategies.
