Talking About Early Childhood Development

Source(s):
FrameWorks Institute

This toolkit, created by FrameWorks Institute, contains communications resources based on the scientific story of child development.

FrameWorks Institute is a nonprofit think tank that designs, conducts and evaluates communications campaigns on social issues, including early childhood development. It has been working on this issue for over a decade, conducting research on how the public thinks about early childhood issues, and recommending communications strategies for improving public understanding and support.

With the National Scientific Council on the Developing Child, FrameWorks Institute has developed a core scientific story of child development utilizing the concrete model of brain architecture and emphasizing the physical changes that take place in a child’s brain. The brain architecture model improves understanding and allows people to reason about how particular programs and policies enhance development.
