IPA President and CEO Claudia Cummings was named as one of the Indiana 250 this week—and she was far from the only IPA-affiliated person given a spot on the prestigious list.

The inaugural lineup, according to Indiana250.com (subscription required), includes the state’s most influential and impactful business and community leaders, representing public and private companies, law firms, universities, not-for-profits, government, and community organizations.

The individuals were compiled and chosen by the executives, editors, and newsroom staff at IBJ Media’s three news brands—Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside Indiana Business, and Indiana Lawyer—after a months-long process that included research and interviews of leaders and organizations across Indiana. “The leaders included on the Indiana 250 have made significant contributions in their communities, across their regions, and to the state and nation,” IBJ Media CEO Nate Feltman said.

Cummings has been the president and CEO of IPA since 2019. Prior to that, she worked for more than a decade in senior leadership for Conexus Indiana, the advanced manufacturing and logistics initiative of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. Cummings also served as deputy commissioner of the Indiana Department of Education, among other policy, communications, and local/state leadership roles.

“I am honored to be named to such an impressive list,” Cummings said. “I want to congratulate the staff and board members from within the IPA network who made this list. Our state is fortunate to have such high-caliber individuals within mission-focused organizations using their expertise, connections, and passion to make Indiana the best we can be.”

The Indiana 250 reception was held at Salesforce Tower on July 21 honoring those chosen and featured remarks by Gov. Eric Holcomb.
