Indiana Philanthropy Alliance is pleased to announce Maddison Miller as its new vice president of external relations, replacing Holly Davis, who moved to Washington, D.C. to be with family.

She will oversee the organization’s public policy initiatives, execute strategic initiatives and fundraising, and secure partnerships to further IPA’s mission. Miller will also direct the John M. Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute.

She joins IPA after serving as chief executive officer of Brown County Community Foundation since 2018. Under Miller’s leadership, the organization achieved record fundraising, shepherded its community through the pandemic response, administered hundreds of impactful grants and scholarships, and built new institutions to meet the socio-economic needs of its community. Those efforts included a preschool scholarship program, a high-quality early education center, a state-of-the-art student-run manufacturing facility, and a capacity-building program for small, understaffed nonprofit organizations.

“Maddison’s unique combination of skills and experience gained working in the community foundation, association, and advocacy fields makes her an ideal fit to serve IPA members,” said Claudia Cummings, IPA president and CEO.

She has also worked as an account executive for SAS, an association manager and lobbyist for the Indiana Cable & Broadband Association, and a legislative assistant for the Indiana Senate, among other roles.

Along with a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, Maddison has a Master of Public Affairs in nonprofit management from IUPUI. She sits on the boards for the Brown County Chamber of Commerce, Youth Enhancement & Training Initiative, and the South Central Community Action Program. Miller and her husband, Alex, live in Brown County with their daughter, Ruby.
