IPA Welcomes 2021 Board Members

IPA has appointed three new officers to its board of directors, including Rich Haddad as board chair, Cheryl Taylor as vice chair and Stephanie Overbey as secretary. IPA also welcomes incoming board members Dan Davis, Rachel Goodspeed, Thomas Major, Jr., John Murphy and Timothy Murphy. These leaders will support the organization in its endeavors to grow the impact of philanthropy throughout Indiana.

“I look forward to working alongside our new board class,” said Claudia Cummings, IPA president and CEO. “The insight of these exceedingly experienced professionals, each of whom stem from diverse organizations with varying focuses, will allow for essential conversations on and action toward our communities’ most pressing issues.”

“As a member of IPA since 2007, I’ve seen tremendous impact by IPA for not only its members and our missions, but to philanthropy as a whole,” said Haddad. “Indiana continues to lead the way in the Midwest and IPA is a major part of that impact.”

IPA’s 2021 board officers include:

  • Chair: Rich Haddad, President & CEO, K21 Health Foundation 
  • Vice Chair: Cheryl Taylor, Board of Directors, Foellinger Foundation 
  • Treasurer: Charles (Chuck) Dunlap, Executive Director, Indiana Bar Foundation
  • Secretary: Stephanie Overbey, CEO, Kosciusko County Community Foundation 

Newly named directors to IPA’s board for a three-year term beginning January 2021 include:

  • Dan Davis, President & CEO, Community Foundation of Jackson County
  • Rachel Goodspeed, Foundation Relations Manager, CareSource Foundation
  • Thomas Major, Jr., Corporate Counsel, Lumina Foundation 
  • John Murphy, President, Ivy Tech Foundation
  • Timothy Murphy, Principal, Nonprofit Financial Solutions

“As a finance professional that has served a number of foundations over the 30 years of my career, I look forward to being a part of enhancing IPA’s service to the philanthropic community” remarked Murphy of Nonprofit Financial Solutions. 

“I’m excited to join the IPA Board and to be a part of moving our collective work forward,” stated Goodspeed of CareSource Foundation. “IPA is a vital resource bringing us together to have candid conversations on our communities’ toughest issues, collaborate on what we’re doing and—more importantly—what we could do.”

“I look forward to representing my cohorts at community foundations around the Hoosier state, and helping IPA provide important services that help move our work and our communities forward,” shared Davis of Community Foundation of Jackson County.

“I value IPA’s history and role as a provider of thought leadership, ‘practical and tactical’ tools and information, and resources that connect and strengthen stakeholders in the philanthropic community,” said Major of Lumina Foundation. “I look forward to working with IPA to move philanthropy forward in the face of ongoing and new challenges.”

IPA’s continuing board members for 2021 include:

  • Jill Carpenter, President & CEO, Community Foundation Alliance
  • Pamela Ross, Vice President of Opportunity, Equity & Inclusion, Central Indiana Community Foundation
  • Jeff Small, Vice President of Programs, Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust
  • Margaret (Maggi) Spartz, President & CEO, Unity Foundation of LaPorte County
  • Jenna Wachtmann, Program Officer, Ball Brothers Foundation

Members of the IPA Foundation board, which manages programs, projects, and funds to support the goals and functions of IPA, include:
