Indiana Celebrates Local Philanthropists

Indiana philanthropists were honored and celebrated by more than 200 guests at the Indiana Philanthropy Awards dinner on November 17, 2016, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. The annual event, hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Indiana Chapter, recognized ten awardees. Those honored included individuals, civic organizations, foundations, corporations, and small businesses who have enhanced philanthropy, the community, and the world through their dedicated efforts, time, leadership, passion, and generosity.

The following individuals, corporations, and foundations were honored as 2016 Indiana Philanthropy Award Recipients:

  • Lifetime Achievement: William G. (posthumously) and Dr. Rose Mays (Indianapolis)
  • Outstanding Philanthropist: Robert and Sharon Reed (Indianapolis)
  • Outstanding Civic Organization: Assistance League of Indianapolis (Indianapolis)
  • Outstanding Foundation: The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis (Indianapolis) Outstanding Corporation: TCC (Carmel)
  • Outstanding Small Business: Alderson Commercial Group, Inc. (Indianapolis)
  • Outstanding Fundraising Professional: Barb Coury (Indianapolis)
  • Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser: Mark Bradford (Bloomington)
  • Outstanding Youth Achievement: Jamie Goetz (Carmel)
  • Outstanding Young Adult: Kirat Sandhu (Indianapolis)

Open nominations for the 2017 Indiana Philanthropy Awards will be released in the spring of 2017, and will be available on AFP’s website at afpindiana.afpnet.org.
