The time is here – the 2020 Grantmaker Salary and Benefits (GSB) Survey is officially open and will close on May 31.

We recognize that many organizations are experiencing business disruptions related to the COVID-19 outbreak, so we understand that you may not be able to prioritize participation in the 2020 GSB survey right now. We encourage you to take a moment to share your intentions with us by logging in and selecting "We WILL participate" or "We will NOT participate" on the first page of the survey.

The annual Grantmaker Salary and Benefits (GSB) Survey provides grantmakers the most comprehensive data on foundation staff salary and compensation. Your participation in the GSB survey is needed – the more participation received, the greater the insights for the sector.

What’s the benefit of participating?

All survey participants will receive the full report, the board compensation report, and access to the benchmarking platform to create custom reports – for FREE. The full report retails for $438 and will release in October.

The survey also informs our Midwest and Indiana Grantmaker Salary and Benefits Reports - a benefit for all IPA members. Your participation is critical to ensure these vital resources are as robust as possible.

For almost three decades, foundations have relied on the GSB data to determine their budget, talent recruitment and retention strategies, as well as benchmark personnel policies, practices, and more.

How do we participate?

Designate one or more individuals from your team to represent your organization. Multiple individuals from the same organization can work on your submission simultaneously. If you participated in the 2019 survey, go to Benchmark Central and log in using your cof.org credentials to start the survey. If you did not participate in the 2019 survey, email the first and last name, title, and email for each individual needing access to research@cof.org.

If you do not recall your cof.org password, please use the password reset function.

What information will I need?

Answers to frequently asked questions, as well as a list of documents needed to complete the survey are available online.

All surveys must be completed by 5 p.m., Sunday, May 31. For more information, visit cof.org/2020GSBSurvey or email research@cof.org.

Thank you in advance for your participation.
