Online applications are available for the 2019 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship, administered by Heritage Fund and Independent Colleges of Indiana.

Lilly Scholarships provide scholarships for tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis that lead to a baccalaureate degree at any accredited Indiana public or private college or university.

Two Lilly Scholarships will be awarded to Bartholomew County students for 2019.

Applicants must reside in Bartholomew County; be on course to graduate with a diploma from an accredited public or private Indiana high school by the end of June 2019; have at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0-point scale; and demonstrate significant school involvement, community service, good character and leadership skills and financial need. Finalists must be available for personal interviews with the selection committee. Scholarship recipients must intend to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study beginning in Fall 2019 at an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana.

Complete application eligibility rules and instructions are available at heritagefundbc.org.

Applications and all required materials must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018.

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program aims to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana and to increase the ability of Indiana community foundations to enhance the quality of life for the state’s residents. Since the program began in 1998, 45 Bartholomew County students have been named Lilly Endowment Community Scholars. The Endowment has awarded more than $3 million collectively to these students.
