IT User Intern - The intern will help ensure smooth daily operations through troubleshooting hardware, software, and systems issues, and by assisting with the setup and support of A/V equipment for meetings and community events.

What We’re Looking For:
Support CICF’s mission of equitable opportunity for all by delivering responsive, entry-level to mid-level technology support to staff, partners, and program teams. The intern will help ensure smooth daily operations through troubleshooting hardware, software, and systems issues, and by assisting with the setup and support of A/V equipment for meetings and community events. This role is ideal for someone passionate about tech and social good, who values inclusive service delivery in a nonprofit setting. Interns will learn to follow established protocols and grow in their understanding of user-centered design and community-informed technology solutions. Interns will work with cross-functional teams, document and track IT requests, and contribute to CICF’s goal of operational excellence through technology.
Key Responsibilities:
A/V and Meeting Technology Support
- Set up, test, and assist with technology in CICF conference rooms, event spaces, and shared office environments.
- Support A/V needs for internal team meetings and external events (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, microphones, hybrid Zoom setups).
- Ensure accessibility and ease of use in all technology setups to align with CICF’s value of inclusion.
Tier 1 Helpdesk Support
- Respond to incoming helpdesk tickets and walk-in requests.
- Provide basic troubleshooting and first-line resolution for technology issues, including laptops, software, network connectivity, and user accounts.
- Escalate complex issues appropriately while ensuring timely communication with end-users.
Professional Development and Process Improvement
- Participate in internal training on nonprofit-specific platforms and services used at CICF.
- Document common tech issues and contribute to developing user-friendly guides.
- Offer input on improving the tech experience for all CICF staff and partners.
Requirements
Requirements:
· Availability- with flexible hours Monday–Friday. Prefer availability during morning or early afternoon.
· Education and Experience- Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate.
· Interest or foundational knowledge in technology support.
· Experience supporting diverse user groups is a plus.
· Effective Communicator: Develop the ability to translate technical information clearly and respectfully across departments and to non-technical audiences.
· Inclusive Collaborator: Learn to engage with people from various backgrounds with empathy and cultural awareness.
· Problem Solver & Innovator: Tackle unique technology challenges by thinking creatively and resourcefully within a nonprofit setting.

Working Conditions: Flexible hybrid office environment (in office three days a week). Home base–English Foundation Building in downtown Indianapolis, plus additional space and expectation of presence in Hamilton County Community Foundation’s Fishers office.
