We are the preeminent champion of philanthropy in Indiana. Collectively, our members have the unique potential to transform Indiana through effective philanthropy, and IPA is their collective voice.
We connect our members to one another and to our wide array of resources. We connect our members to each other and to key partners to create a knowledgeable, collaborative, sustainable philanthropic sector.
Specifically, we support Indiana's grantmakers in ways no other organization or resource can, by:
- Providing advocacy that promotes and protects the work and interests of Indiana grantmakers with our state and federal government officials, including direct lobbying around specific topics affecting the sector
- Creating high-quality grantmaker education that is convenient and cost-effective
- Delivering Indiana-specific news, research and analysis
- Connecting our members to each other and to key partners to create a knowledgeable, collaborative, sustainable philanthropic sector
Our members are both longstanding and up-and-coming family, independent, community and corporate foundations, varying largely in asset size and funding interest areas. In 2012 we expanded membership to include professional philanthropic advisors, other qualified individuals, government agencies that make grants and regranting organizations.
