The Indiana General Assembly meets yearly. The long session is held in odd numbered years and must end by April 29. The short session is held in even numbered years and must end by March 14. The Indiana General Assembly reconvened on January 3, 2018 for its short session which must be completed by March 14, 2018.
While the Indiana General Assembly is in session, IPA tracks bills with the potential to impact foundations and their work, including legislation concerning the state budget, tax reform, promotion of charitable giving, and nonprofit regulation. Members receive a weekly "Statehouse News" email message reporting on the progress of legislation being tracked by IPA.
