Zotec Foundation Awards $100K to Indy Nonprofit

Thursday, February 17, 2022

Carmel-based Zotec Foundation has donated $100,000 to Indianapolis-based nonprofit Indy Women in Tech for education, training, and career development in information technology fields. The nonprofit says it will use the funding to support youth events such as “Pathways to Tech” and “Ignite Your SuperPower.”

Indy Women in Tech works to inspire women and girls to pursue STEM-related employment in Indiana.

“With Zotec’s generous donation of $100,000, IWiT is able to empower more women and girls to pursue tech-related careers by providing them with financial support, mentoring, training, and education,” said Karen Maginn, board chair of Indy Women in Tech. “As Zotec steps forward with their support, we come closer to filling the pipeline of educated and qualified women candidates to work in tech in Indiana.”

Additionally, Zotec says the funds will support 18- to 22-year-old women through Indy Women in Tech’s scholar programs at Ivy Tech Community College and Eleven Fifty Academy.

“STEM education, training, and career development are important focus-areas for the Zotec Foundation,” said Zotec Foundation Chairman T. Scott Law. “We’re committed to providing resources to support young people and help them reach their full potential. We’re pleased to support and partner with impactful organizations, such as IWiT, that we believe enhance the lives and overall well-being of Indiana youth significantly.”

Indy Women in Tech was recently nominated for TechPoint’s Mira Community Impact Award for the second year in a row.
