Wayne County Foundation awards $169,097 in spring grant cycle

The Wayne County Foundation has awarded $169,097 to twenty-nine local organizations in support of programs or projects designed to enhance the spirit of the community and improve the quality of life across Wayne County.

“The wide range of projects and initiatives proposed for this cycle was especially impressive,” said Steve Borchers, the Foundation’s executive director. “We have no doubt that the ones selected for funding will have a meaningful impact on our community.”

All of the Foundation’s community grantmaking is made possible by income from unrestricted and endowed field-of-interest funds.

This is the complete list of grant awards approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors at its May meeting:

Animal Care Alliance

To purchase four stainless steel specialty tables

Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County

To help purchase computers and access points

Brighter Path Inc.

To purchase a wheelchair lift for the facility

Christian Charities

In support of Backpack Blessings and Food Recovery

programs

Circle U Help Center, Inc.

In support of meal services

$5,000.00

Communities In Schools of Wayne County

In support of the site coordination program

$15,000.00

Cope Environmental Center

In support of the Families in the Forest project

$5,000.00

Diplomas Inc

For tuition to keep 4 teen parents and 2 children in school for a whole school year

$7,200.00

Dublin Public Library

To replace flooring and repaint inside the library

$6,599.00

Dudas Inspiration Venue for the Arts

In support of the DIVA Improv workshop

$3,000.00

Every Child Can Read

In support of the Third Grade Academy

$5,000.00

Gateway Food Pantry

For food and transportation expenses

$5,000.00

Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana

In support of the Healthy Food for Families program

in Wayne County

In support of the 2018 Summer Stock Season
