The Board of Directors of Our Community Foundation has announced the appointment of Christine “Chris” Jarrett as the new Executive Director, effective January 2, 2025. She will succeed Mary Smith, who, in September, announced her intention to retire, providing counsel to the Foundation through March 2025.

Jarrett and her husband, Jeff have lived in rural Daviess County for over 30 years, having raised all their children here. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and has worked in various nonprofit initiatives and organizations. She managed and implemented a federal grant aimed at combating methamphetamine abuse in Greene and Daviess Counties and served on the Board of Directors for the Washington Catholic Education Endowment.

Currently, she works as an Adult Protective Services Investigator for six counties, including Daviess County, and serves as a volunteer with the Daviess County 4-H Program, Tri Kappa, and Our Lady of Hope Church.

“Chris has a proven track record of fostering collaboration and building connections,” said Joe Singleton, President of the Foundation's Board of Directors. “We are excited to welcome her to our team and to build on the momentum and excellence of Our Community Foundation's work. We look forward to her leadership in promoting giving and growing endowment for Daviess County.”

In her new role, Jarrett will lead the Foundation in its mission to address the needs of Daviess County by cultivating a culture of local philanthropy. She is passionate about the community and dedicated to enhancing the Foundation's outreach and impact.

“I am honored to join Our Community Foundation and to contribute to the important work being done in Daviess County,” said Jarrett. “I look forward to collaborating with the Foundation Board, donors, and community partners to create lasting positive change in our community."
