The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC) proudly announces the appointment of Julie Reagan as the Chief Executive Officer, effective October 30, 2023.

Julie was appointed Interim CEO in August, while the CFBC Board formed a Search Committee. Additionally, the Board engaged a nonprofit consultant with community foundation experience to help the Search Committee assess the internal capabilities and needs against the strategic plan of the organization. Directors and staff sought valuable feedback from community partners, donors, fund advisors, grantors, and our nonprofits. Feedback in listening sessions and other meetings led to the decision to entrust Julie with the leadership of CFBC.

Shawna Lake, Chair of the CFBC Board of Directors, remarks, “Julie embodies the spirit and values of our community, one in which she and her family both work and live. Her previous experience, coupled with the confidence echoed by our partners and stakeholders, affirms that she is exceptionally well-positioned to lead the Foundation in the coming years.”

Julie has a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in organizational leadership, with several years of nonprofit leadership experience in community foundations and higher education. Julie’s robust academic and professional background seamlessly matches what the staff and Board have heard as the needs of our rapidly growing county.

Julie’s community insights, combined with her unwavering commitment to sustainability and the growth of the Foundation, make her an invaluable asset as we move forward into a promising future.

“I’m excited for this next chapter as CEO. Boone County will see CFBC focus on our organizational purpose of pouring back into the community and supporting local nonprofits to address local unmet needs while further developing our connector, convener, and leader role in the county. As an organization, we will work together to build upon our 33-year history to elevate community relationships, partnerships, and philanthropic excellence. It is a powerful time to be a leader in philanthropy at such a pivotal point in Boone County’s history, and I look forward to seeing the impact we will make collaboratively with our community partners, donors, and nonprofit organizations.”
