Wednesday, November 15, 2017

The Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County's (HFBC) Board of Directors recently approved the following grant awards to deserving organizations whose programs benefit the residents of Bartholomew County. All grants were awarded from the Community Fund. Each year, through generous support from community members, this fund distributes approximately $500,000 to nonprofits through a competitive grant application process.

Grant recipients were:

  •  Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office -- $11,000 to upgrade a Tru-Narc Analyzer drug testing device that allows officers to safely test for illegal/dangerous drugs. The grant is to upgrade a less expensive, limited-use version of the analyzer. The upgrade will allow for unlimited use of the device.
  •  Developmental Services Inc. -- $26,500 to purchase therapeutic equipment and healthcare furniture to transform a program space for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities into a welcoming, comfortable multisensory environment.
  •  IUPUC - Up to $25,000 in bridge funding to hire a dedicated part-time staff person to design and implement programming for the benefit of women at IUPUC and in the community through the IUPUC Office of Women.
