Healthcare Foundation of La Porte (HFL) is a private foundation created from the sale of IU Health La Porte Hospital. Founded in 2016, HFL works to empower residents to live healthy and well in and around La Porte through grantmaking, capacity building of nonprofits, and education in the new, state-of-the-art Conference & Learning Center (C&LC). Our vision is for La Porte County to be among Indiana’s top ten healthiest communities by 2030.
The Operations Associate is a newly created position to help support and maintain the operations of the C&LC. The objective of this role is to act as liaison for the C&LC, provide administrative support, and serve as the front facing team member for the organization. The Operations Associate will oversee the coordination of all meeting spaces from reservations and set ups, to facilities orientation and post-meeting follow up. Besides the C&LC, the Operations Associate will also work to coordinate administrative functions, including distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, retrieval of receipts and invoices, purchasing and inventory, and answering incoming phone calls to the Foundation.
We are looking for someone that is extremely friendly and professional. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is accountable, transparent, and collaborates well in a small team. This person must be highly organized and have experience managing and scheduling reservations.
The ideal candidate will possess, at a minimum, 1-3 years of administrative support experience, an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree, strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Zoom and Microsoft Teams experience is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The position operates in a professional work environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This position will also operate the audio/visual technology in the Conference & Learning Center.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Visual acuity is necessary to perform the job. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. The candidate must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds (tables with casters, chairs with casters, and other supplies).
