Benefits and Total Rewards Specialist - We are seeking an experienced Benefits and Total Rewards Specialist to join our People and Culture team.

What We’re Looking For: The Benefits and Total Rewards Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll, compensation, and benefits to ensure that our organization remains competitive, compliant, and capable of attracting and retaining top talent. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Payroll and Compensation and Benefits administration, combined with a strong understanding of Total Rewards principles and practices. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, Finance, or commiserate experience. 

  • Five years of experience administering compensation or benefits programs required. 

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. 

  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and compensation. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 

  • Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements. 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Proficient with payroll software. (Paylocity preferred)  

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. 

  • Review and verify payroll data, including timekeeping records, tax deductions, and benefit contributions. 

  • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies promptly. 

  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure proper accounting and financial reporting related to payroll. 

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. 

  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. 

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. 

  • Design, develop, and implement competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with the organization's overall Total Rewards strategy. 

  • Conduct salary benchmarking and market analysis to ensure our compensation packages remain competitive in the industry. 

  • Monitor trends in compensation and benefits to recommend adjustments and improvements to our offerings. 

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health, retirement, and other welfare programs. 

  • Monitors administrators’ and insurance carriers’ reports to ensure the organization’s compliance with plan requirements. 

  • Ensures the organization’s and plans’ compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA. 

  • Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures. 

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
