Join fellow grantmakers to learn about the social and economic factors affecting your community’s health, and how you can take action to meet these challenges head on.
IPA Regional Forums connect local funders in five Indiana regions on important topics and trends. This year, grantmakers will learn about socioeconomic factors affecting the health of communities they support, as well as solutions that get to the heart of the problem.
Each forum addresses the reality that our zip code is more important than our genetic code in determining how long and how well we live. Field experts and local service providers will explore the social determinants of health (education, income, social support) and policy, systems, and environmental change strategies. Attendees will learn about regional initiatives centered on workforce development, nutrition, and substance abuse prevention. An action planning workshop will help funders consider ways to shift their thinking, program activities, and investments proactively to support healthy and thriving communities with lasting impact.
Speakers include representatives from Health by Design, Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), Ivy Tech, Indiana United Ways, Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program, and others.
