The US has an estimated 1.6 million tax-exempt nonprofit organizations that employ 13.7 million people. This equals roughly 10% of the nation’s workforce. Despite this, talent attraction and retention can be a challenge for nonprofit organizations and foundations. The 2015 IPA Leadership Academy will mix content-rich presentation and highly interactive discussions to help participants understand what they can do at the individual, organizational and community level to attract and retain quality talent working for cause-driven organizations.
The Academy will offer you the opportunity to explore avenues to advance your own career as well as build the talent savvy of your organizations. This session will help you:
1) Increase your knowledge and awareness of talent development strategies for individuals
2) Help you understand how you can strengthen the talent brand and talent readiness of your organization
3) Develop a broader coordinated strategy to build a robust and diverse talent supply chain for philanthropy
Dr. Jeffrey Pryor and Alexandra Mitchell are co-founders of Pathfinder Solutions, and co-authors of Compassionate Careers: Making a Living by Making a Difference (Career Press, March 2015), which serves as an invitation to people who wish to combine purpose, passion and profession.
