The Indiana General Assembly meets yearly. The long session is held in odd numbered years and must end by April 29. The short session is held in even numbered years and must end by March 14.
While the Indiana General Assembly is in session, IPA tracks bills with the potential to impact foundations and their work, including legislation concerning the state budget, tax reform, promotion of charitable giving, and nonprofit regulation. Members receive a weekly "Statehouse News" email message reporting on the progress of legislation being tracked by IPA.
We host an annual gathering for legislators and advocates of philanthropy. This event is your chance to discuss issues of importance to the philanthropic sector with your state lawmakers.
Each year, we host luncheons in all regions of our state for our members and their locally elected officials to discuss community issues and areas of concern.
